There are a few friends I have in my life and that will inspire me and teach me.
Ben is one of those.He has a nice taste in music, a special one I would say.Although he has not studied music, he is one of those people who hasn't passed a single day in his life without listening to music.
Whenever we'd meet we would share the new songs we have discovered and we would make each other listen. He has created playlists full of songs, those that one has to search a lot to find. He has a preference for particular voices, non usual hues.
Frequently he will message me or post songs he thinks I'd like and this is how I learnt about Alice Phoebe Lou.
The first song that Ben showed to me was Society.I immediately liked her smooth and silvery voice. The simplicity in the way she sang was just fascinating.You could see that she was so focused on the music and caught away by the emotions.

After a while I did my own research and started seeking more information about the singer,
To my surprise she is really young, 22 years old now. Born in South Africa she travelled to Europe for the first time during a summer break from school and this is how she started performing in the streets.
She sang during that trip in the streets of Paris and Amsterdam. Alice travelled back to South Africa, completed her studies and made it to the German capital,Berlin later on to pursue her dreams.This is where she started singing while playing her guitar.Soon enough people were impressed of her mesmerising voice and started following and buying her records.

Soon enough the creative community of Berlin assisted Alice in her music attempts. She collaborated with a number of acoustic, electronic and jazz musicians who made her grow musically. This is how she met Matteo who became her music companion.
She released in April 2016 her first full length studio album named Orbit consisted of 9 tracks influenced by jazz.
Her European tour is almost sold out.
When I saw that she is going to perform in Paradiso Amsterdam, I could not but book the tickets immediately.
Of course I could not but go with Ben who loved the idea.

So here we are a couple of days before the concert on Tuesday 17th looking forward to see the phenomenon named Alice Phoebe Lou.
