The photo below portrays prisoners at the Quezon City Jail have increased since the new President Rodrigo Duterte announced an a war against druds. In this photo prisoners are sleeping on a staircase. The jail should accommodate 278 people according to United Nations instead of 800. This amount was exceeded in August when it reached 3800 prisoners. The photo is a shock to the eyes of the visitor as it reveals the miserable condition under which the prisoners in Manila are kept.

The Swedish photographer captures the most touching photo. His camera lens reveals the outcome of the war in Syria. Wennman reminds us that although we are thousands of kilometers from those countries in war, at the same we are too close to the outcome of it.One of the cruelest outcomes of a war is the impact on children. We caught the visitors spending more time looking at those photos that are deeply touching and reveal simultaneously the violence and cruelty of human nature but also the innocence and the empathy.

We found this photo at the entrance of Nieuwe Kerk and it drew our attention. It is a photo of a local hunter washing his face with snow. Life in the small settlement near the Nizhnyaya Tunguska River is really difficult for the 100 people due to the extreme isolation and the low temperatures which might reach -45° Celsius in the winter. The nearest town is 300 kilometers away and electricity is supplied by a diesel generator but is available only in the mornings and evenings. Hunting and the fur trade form a significant part of the local economy.
